This photo depicts Arthur White outside the Manhart Store and Sedalia Post Office, Plum Avenue, Sedlia, Colorado
DATE: 1882 – 1889
DESCRIPTION: Arthur White standing to the side of the one story Manhart Store on Plum Avenue in Sedalia, Colorado view to the west. The man wears a suit with a polka dotted tie. He is holding a hat. A dog lies on the dirt street (Plum Avenue) next to the man. A smaller building with a false front is to the west of the store. A wooden hitching post, and a wooden fence are on the west side of the building. The Manhart house with L-shaped layout and gabled roof is in the background.

DATE: 1880 – 1920
DESCRIPTION: Denver and Rio Grande Railway Company operated from 1870 to 1886. It was sold under foreclosure in 1886, and was succeeded by Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Company that operated from
1886 to 1920. Train derailment near Sedalia, Colorado. Men, women and children stand outside three derailed passenger train cars. Women wear hats and long dresses, men wear hats and pants. The train cars are laying at the side of the track. Utility poles are visible behind the train cars. “Strosnider Photo” and “D&RG Wreck Sedalia Colo” are written on the bottom of the photo, which was probably a post card.

DESCRIPTION: Three men and a boy stand in front of the door to a blackmith shop in Sedalia, Colorado. The men and boy are wearing overalls, one wears a pocket watch. Two dogs and a bicycle are in the front of the door as well. The building is long, one story with a pitched tin roof, a brick chimney, three double-hung windows on the side and a false front. The building has vertical plank siding which is unpainted. There is a
large double door in the center of the building. Two smaller buildings are attached to the left side of the building, one has vertical siding, the other has clapboards (horizontal siding.) Signs on the building advertise Velvet Tobacco, Spencer Tobacco, Prince Albert, “T.G. Manot Wagon”, “Peter Schott” “L.G
. Maas Shoeing and Jobbing” and “L.A. Dow Blacksmith and Wagonwork” Building was on Plum Avenue in Sedalia, west of Manhart’s store near Karcher Street.

DESCRIPTION: Two story Manhart Store on Plum Avenue in Sedalia, Colorado.
The building is constructed in two parts, one part of the building is made of squared stone, and another is made of rough stone. The lower level of the building is mostly glass, with large windows and recessed doors. A sign outside the building reads
“Sedalia Post Office.” Other signs on the building read “Geo. Manhart 1889″, “Dry Goods”, “Boots and Shoes”, and “Sherwin Williams Paints”. Men and children stand on the porch of the building.
